Noah's Ark

Addie loves to look at her books. She doesn't always look at them for long, but you can find her books scattered all across our house (and every once in a while in the dog's water dish, insert exasperated sigh here).

This is her Noah's Ark book. It has lots of flaps for her to open. It's usually only for church, so she was way excited when she found it's hiding place today!

Just a Girl and Her Dog!

Addie LOVES Elvis! She was so excited to see him when she woke up from her nap today. I let her sit by him and had fun taking pictures while they played!

Elvis enjoying hanging out with Addie...

Wait, why is she climbing on me...she's invading my personal space...

Somebody help me, please!

I'm almost free...

Success!

She's BACK!!!

Oh, how I LOVE this little girl!!!

Summer Loving

Addie is quickly learning about all things summer! Both the good, swimming and Harkins summer movie fun, and the bad, hot seats and sweaty car rides.

She's not real sure about swimming yet, but hopefully she'll love it by the time summer is over!

My aunt and uncle have the coolest friends down the street that used to run a petting zoo. This is a baby miniature horse that Addie got to play with a few weeks ago when we went to visit!

Addie got her very own pool from Tita for her birthday! We broke it out this week for some afternoon fun. Her favorite part was the popsicle!

Camping...

Wil had a Saturday off for Memorial Day weekend, so we decided to go camping! We packed up what seems like everything we own and headed up to Flagstaff for a fun summertime trip - emphasis on SUMMERTIME.

It was F.R.E.E.Z.I.N.G.!!! Freezing and WINDY! In fact, the weather was pretty much miserable...but we had a blast. The weather report when we got home said it was about 29 degrees overnight in Flagstaff...which meant we were still cold sleeping under a big blanket, two sleeping bags, two afghans, and three smaller blankets!

I think my hair looks cute! Why are you guys laughing?

Addie's FAVORITE past time was playing in the dirt!

Hiding from the cold inside the tent!

Hiding from the wind inside the car!

More playing in the dirt! No...those pants still are not clean!

It All Started With A Big Bang!

Wil's 30th Birthday was Friday, May 25...so I threw a little surprise party...a Big Bang Theory surprise party!

Big Bang Theory is our favorite show, so I thought it seemed appropriate. The menu included Milk Duds (the most apologetic of the candies), Junior Mints (you're embarrassing yourself), spaghetti with hot dogs cut up in it (a real eye-talian treat), YooHoo (the name literally beckons), water (neat, with little umbrellas), and Cheesecake, (you know, because of Wil's birthday, not because a coworker sneezed on it).

I made little signs with Big Bang Theory quotes to label all of our treats, kids activities and Wil's spot on the couch! :-) We had Wii sports (the people at Nintendo can only go so far in helping us recreate an actual athletic experience), Jenga (you should have been there for the great Jenga tantrum of '08), chess, and a super secret agent obstacle course for the kids or adults to play.

Unfortunately...I was a total picture slacker. This cell phone pic after everyone left was the only one we got the entire night.

Luckily, the matching shirts were my favorite part of the night anyway! I almost made Wil one, but decided not to because I thought he would think it was dorky...he was actually bummed out he didn't get one, so I told him I would make him one too.

The back of my shirt says "Our babies will be smart and beautiful." The back of Addie's says "Smart & Beautiful."

Happy Birthday, Wil/Daddy! We sure love you!!!
